The Australasian Oaks has been won by some of the big names of training and in the past the race has produced some great Caulfield Cup winners. In 2008 the horse Zarita won. Zarita has won six races from 10 starts and has been a star of the autumn racing in Australia. The Australasian Oaks win on March 29 was her third win a row after after Group Two victories in the Armanasco Stakes and Kewney Stakes in Melbourne. Zarita's other feature win was the Group Two Wakeful Stakes at Flemington in November.
